As the chilly winds of January envelop us, the warmth of the Lohri bonfire brings a sense of togetherness and joy. Celebrating Lohri at our office was an incredibly vibrant and joyful experience. Lohri a popular harvest festival primarily celebrated in the northern regions of India, especially in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, marks the end of the winter solstice. The festival is dedicated to the Sun god and is traditionally observed on January 13th each year. We sang traditional folk songs, danced to the rhythm of dhol beats, and shared stories about the festival's significance. The warmth of the fire symbolized a new beginning, prosperity, and the departure of the cold season. Delicious traditional dishes such as gur (jaggery), peanuts, and popcorn were enjoyed by all. These snacks are customary for Lohri and add to the festive spirit.
